This year's winterknights fest hit a fantastic total of 38 fanworks, including 16 pieces of art, 1 fic/art combo, 2 fic/art/media combos, and 19 fics.

Holiday season has already begun and so Merlin and Arthur decided that it's time to make some holidays sweets.

After years of Merlin prattling on about getting a cat, Arthur gets Merlin a kitten for Christmas, which Merlin promptly names 'Aithusa'. He was not at all, however, prepared for how quickly he falls in love with the tiny furball himself.

After months of pining, Merlin seizes the moment (and his destiny) when he finds Arthur under the mistletoe at the office Christmas party.

It's cold outside and Merlin is happy to show Arthur what an asset Aithusa is in helping to keep them warm but Arthur was rather hoping to have had an excuse to employ the more traditional method of sharing body heat. Luckily for Arthur, Aithusa is an intelligent and astute dragon and intends to fly off and give them some privacy.

Morgana Pendragon is a lawyer in London’s most prestigious law firms and has just gotten out of a trainwreck of a marriage. Now, she doubts the whole constitution of marriage. Meanwhile, Gwen Smith is a successful screenwriter in LA who has just been dumped by her boyfriend of three years two weeks before Christmas. When she finds out that he’s already begun seeing another woman, Gwen begins to feel utter despair over how her life is turning out. Deciding that she wants to getaway for the holidays she discovers Morgana’s ad offering her country cottage in Surrey on a house swapping website. Answering the ad, Morgana is pleased for the opportunity to stay at Gwen’s luxurious LA house.

While in each other’s homes, Morgana meets Gwen’s best friend Merlin who is a fellow writer and through their mutual love of science fiction become fast friends. Morgana finds herself falling for Merlin, but after the mess of her divorce she doubts her feelings. Gwen, on the other hand, becomes acquainted with Morgana’s half-brother Arthur after he unexpectedly discovered her at his sister’s cottage. At first, Gwen thinks Arthur is an arrogant prat after he rudely asked to stay in the spare room as he is too drunk to go back to his own place. But when they both find themselves stranded in the cottage during a horrible snowstorm, Gwen finds herself drawn to him after he reveals a softer side. Only problem is he already has a girlfriend.

Yule has come round once again and Merlin is still waiting for Arthur. But... Arthur is there. He has always been there, right by Merlin's side. Only in dreams is he not there.

Arthur and Merlin are co-workers and are assigned with putting the holiday party together because Uther said so. Morgana is missing her boyfriend who is travelling across the globe and Uther wants everyone to not only work during Christmas day but also throw a party for Morgana.

It's freezing outside. It's Christmas and Merlin doesn't have anywhere to go, so he just lays down in the snow and let's go. But someone is still holding on.

Snow on Christmas Eve is perfect timing. Aithusa has never seen snow so Arthur and Merlin take her outside to play – and the snow works its Christmas magic on them, too.

Leon hasn't seen Gwaine for seven years, since Gwaine dropped out of college and went on a "gap year" trip to Thailand. At last it seems that Gwaine has returned home - but, perhaps inevitably, he's not quite the same as the man Leon's been yearning for all this time. Then again, maybe Leon's not quite the same either.

The problem is that Merlin doesn't have a one true love. At least not one he can admit to. The other employees decide to try to help him out.

Centuries in the future, Merlin has given up all hope for Arthur’s return, yet on Christmas Eve he finds himself making a desperate wish.

Give him time, they'd said. Given all that Elyan's been through, Percival thinks he understands. But as the months go by and the distance grows, he starts to wonder. Then, during the Midwinter festivities, he notes Elyan slipping out early and has an epiphany: Maybe it's less about waiting for enough time to pass and more about choosing the right time.

Merlin and Arthur spend the evening at a Christmas market. Merlin adores the celebrations while Arthur is less enthused. However, it doesn’t stay that way.
